The Mezuri Platform is a hardware and software system for end-to-end management of data from development interventions. It will combine innovative sensor, phone, and tablet-based data collection technologies, network protocols for data transfer, cloud-based data storage, and a web-based computing tool for analyzing, visualizing, and sharing data.
The Mezuri Platform is being developed by a team of researchers from UC Berkeley, Portland State University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Washington. It will integrate the team’s existing data technologies and support data generated via other means and systems, including other sensor networks and traditional paper-based observations.
Mezuri will produce rapid feedback on technology impact, enabling iterative redesign of new devices and services as they are being deployed. The platform can be extended to enable program managers to evaluate the utility and take-up of the services they provide – both more reliably and more frequently than standard donor “progress reports” currently allow.
